GSURS

Make it.

We aim to be as inclusive as possible and are open to student projects that relate to any aspect of German Studies. This can mean a paper, presentation, or creative project (e.g., graphic novel, short video essay, narrative film, etc.).

Or you might have an idea you would like to share and develop into a presentation. Whatever your interest, topic, format, or discipline, we would love to hear about it!

Present it.

You will have a chance to present your project for up to 7 minutes, followed by a 5-minute discussion.

You will engage in stimulating conversations and have a relaxed platform to receive constructive feedback on your work. One faculty member from each participating university will also give a plenary on a relevant topic in German Studies.

Engage with it.

GSURS is an opportunity to showcase your amazing work, get feedback from peers and faculty, and add academic experience to your CV or portfolio! Your submission will automatically be considered for publication in Augenblick, a German Studies Undergraduate Research Journal.

The German Studies Undergraduate Research Showcase is a project collaboration among three German Studies programs: The University of British Columbia, the University of Victoria, and the University of Washington Seattle. It takes place each year in the spring and provides students a venue to share the work they completed in their courses, research projects, theses, or individual passion projects.

The call for submissions will be shared through the individual German programs in advance. For any questions about the showcase, reach out to ubc.german[at]ubc.ca.
